Crosswords are a common variety of word puzzles found in newspapers and magazines throughout the world. The idea of the crossword is to fill the white squares in a grid of black and white squares, with letters, to form words and phrases which are the solutions to clues. In quick (also known as straight) crosswords, the clues are relative simple: definitions of the answers, anagrams labelled as such, abbreviations, and sometimes puns.
