Kakuro (also known as Kakro or Cross Sums) is a logical puzzle game that shares some similarities to Sudoku. In Japan, it is the second most popular game of this type after Sudoku. In Kakuro, the player's goal is to fill in the white squares of a grid of black and white squares (similar to a crossword) using the digits 1 to 9. The numbers must be filled in such a way, that each horizontal or vertical entry (occupying a row/column of spaces similar to a crossword entry), adds up to a specified total, and does not contain any of the digits more than once.
