Chess is probably the classic strategy game for two players, and involves no luck - just skill. Although many countries claim to have invented chess, the most commonly held opinion by historians, is that the game originated in ancient Persia
(Iran).
In Chess, each player has 16 pieces which are placed on a 8X8 grid of squares. The players take turns moving one of their pieces (different pieces have different movement capabilities), with the objective of checkmating their opponent's King. Checkmate occurs when a player's King is threatened with being captured, and no possible move that the player makes would be able to prevent it.
